This has helped a lot with low workloads, but the fan is still pretty noticeable at 50% CPU load. I've started playing with my fan profile and set the fan to reach 100% at 80*. Idle temps are around 40* if that matters. From what I'm reading, this is good for a 3900X, but it still feels really high. With the Ryzen at stock voltage and clock, full-load temps is between 65* - 70*, and that's with the CPU fan at 100%. With the Phenom overclocked to 3.9 GHz, the temps rarely went over 55* at full load.
With both the Phenom and Ryzen builds, I used aftermarket CoolerMaster "tower-style" CPU coolers. I'm looking for some advice how I can minimize CPU fan noise while maintaining safe temperature ranges.
I recently upgraded my workstation from a Phenom II X6 1100T to a Ryzen 9 3900X.
